25 years’ experience in Christchurch and Auckland. Christopher Graham is a regular performance pianist, keyboardist, organist, and accompanist.
Christopher Graham specialises in classical, popular, and jazz music, teaching music examination courses and non-examination courses. Lessons are weekly, and for most students, lessons are 45 minutes. Lessons cover pieces of music, technique, the ‘materials’ of music (keys, chords, rhythm, etc.), listening skills, reading skills, and playing from memory. Students are expected to practice most days – what the student needs to practice and focus on is written down during each lesson – both the student and the teacher keep a copy.
In his teaching practice, he has prepared hundreds of students for music examinations, and concerts. All students pass examinations with thorough preparation. Many students also develop their music skills without taking exams.
New students and parents can contact Christopher (see below) to make enquiries with no obligation. Discuss what services you would like, as well as fees. Most students commit to each school term. Enquire now about tuition for 2024.
Christopher Graham was trained privately, at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, and at Canberra University, Australia. He specialised in piano performance and conducting.
